Quantum Week 2026: Strasbourg at the vanguard of future sciences
From 23 to 28 March 2026, Strasbourg will host a new edition of Quantum Week, organised by the European Centre for Quantum Sciences (CESQ) on the CNRS Cronenbourg campus. Now a key gathering for both the scientific community and industry stakeholders, the event features a series of thematic days covering public policy, industrial opportunities, training and innovation. Only the final day, Saturday 28 March, will be open to the general public.

A program designed for all quantum stakeholders
The week will begin on Monday 23 March with a day dedicated to public and industrial decision-makers. Discussions will focus on the European quantum strategy, the forthcoming quantum law, and the skills required to support this rapidly expanding field.
From Tuesday 24 to Thursday 26 March, CESQ will host the Quantum Ideas Factory, an immersive scientific hackathon bringing together forty European master’s students and doctoral candidates. Guided by researchers and industry experts, participants will work in small teams to transform research ideas into innovative concepts. The format strengthens creativity, scientific rigor and interdisciplinary collaboration.
In parallel, on Thursday 26 March, an employment and career fair will be held, open without prior registration to students and early‑career researchers. Ten quantum‑sector companies will present their job opportunities and European doctoral and postdoctoral funding programs.
On Friday 27 March, the industry‑focused day will provide a dedicated forum for exchanges between companies, start-ups and researchers. The program will highlight emerging uses of quantum technologies, experience sharing and professional networking.
A public day to close the week
On Saturday 28 March, CESQ will open its doors to visitors of all ages. The program will include laboratory tours, a quantum computer prototype demonstration, interactive experiments, scientific games, a “Quantum Jungle” area, a treasure hunt, and the traditional tasting of ultra‑low‑temperature ice cream. The day will conclude with a humorous show on quantum science. Admission is free but requires advance registration.
CESQ, a key player in the Alsatian ecosystem
Established in 2022 and affiliated with the Institute of Supramolecular Science and Engineering (ISIS) in Strasbourg, CESQ brings together around forty international researchers in physics, chemistry, materials science, photonics and quantum computing. Its mission is to accelerate scientific progress, encourage partnerships and support innovation in a field that is strategic for Europe.
Located in the heart of the Upper Rhine Valley, CESQ is part of a trinational network, collaborating with German and Swiss partners through the European Interreg Upper Rhine program, including the UpQuantVal project. This cooperation enhances the region’s attractiveness and competitiveness by connecting higher education, fundamental research, industrial applications and cross‑border training.
The center also serves as a crucial link between public research and industry. Collaborations such as the one with BASF on the AQCESS quantum simulator demonstrate Alsace’s capacity to turn research into cutting‑edge innovation for industrial use.
By hosting Quantum Week 2026, Strasbourg reaffirms its position as a leading center for scientific excellence and advanced research. It is an essential event for anyone wishing to explore the vitality of an ecosystem where researchers, students, industry actors and citizens jointly shape the future of quantum science.
