First treetop path in France will be built in Alsace

The 22nd of July the local council community Wissembourg and the Erlebnis Akademie AG (EAK) presented the tourist project “Chemin des cimes de l’Alsace Verte” on the former military base of Drachenbronn (Northern Alsace, France).

This one-kilometre-long, 23-metre-high path will include several interactive play stations and recreational experiences on various themes related to nature and the local environment. The highlight will be the 30-metre-high observation tower with an integrated slide, which, thanks to its exceptional architectural form, will offer a unique view of the Rhine plain, the Black Forest and the Northern Vosges.

This project is the happy conclusion of a long and close cooperation between local authorities, the State, Jean Rottner, President of the Grand Est region, Frédéric Bierry, President of the Departmental Council, Michaël Weber, President of the Northern Vosges Nature Parc, and Pierre Mammosser, President of the local council community of Outre-Forêt, and of course the regional development agency Access Alsace who

Initiated the project and identified EAK as the main investor.

The project will generate about 15 new jobs, with a total investment of around 5.5 million euros. The opening of the treetop path is planned for summer 2020.
