Alsace ranked third among the destinations favoured by wine tourists in 2016 with 16.9% of visitors, coming in behind the vineyards of Bordeaux (18%) and Champagne (17.2%). This success comes as no surprise, thanks to the attractiveness of Alsace and the excellence of its wines!

In 2016, more than 10 million wine tourists visited France’s vineyards, up 33% from 2009. The Grand Est Region is the most popular region for vineyards. With 34.1% of wine tourists heading to Alsace and Champagne, the region is the most popular French wine tourism destination.
