It’s early February again, and the Michelin Guide has come out with its 2017 edition! Several Alsatian restaurants have received a star: Julien Binz, l’Alchémille and the Girardin Restaurant at the Maison des Têtes. Discover them!
Julien Binz, who formerly had a star at the Rendez-Vous de Chasse in Colmar, has regained his star for his eponymous restaurant, nestling snugly in the Alsatian vineyards! At his new restaurant in Ammerschwihr, he offers gastronomic cuisine combining modernity with authenticity, by working with local ingredients lovingly, always in season.
Right in the very centre of Colmar, the Girardin Restaurant at the Maison des Têtes has been awarded its first star. A fine reward for the chef, Eric Girardin! His intensely personal, local cuisine combines subtly with the refinement and discreet luxury of the venue. A Michelin star that starts a new chapter in the history of the Maison des Têtes!
Located in Kaysersberg, l’Alchémille has received its first star. In the kitchen, Chef Jérôme Jaegle combines his passion for cooking with his love of nature. A genius of gastronomy, he has worked with many great chefs, and thanks to his love of a good challenge, he has competed in contests, winning numerous prizes. Nature, taste and terroir are the values that the young but renowned chef upholds in his kitchen, where he works his magic on tastes and flavours.
Renowned for its gastronomy, Alsace now has 30 Michelin-starred restaurants that innovate, exalt and enhance Alsatian gastronomy, outdoing each other in creativity. These include an institution: l’Auberge de l’Ill ! Voted the 3rd best restaurant in the world in 2016, it has held onto its three stars for the 50th year in a row!
