The MICCAI congress (Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention) is a medical imaging international congress. The Eurometropolis of Strasbourg, in tough competition with Basel, has been chosen to host this major congress, of great importance for all the imaging researchers, doctors and specialists in the world, in 2021. Strasbourg will be third in line after Hong Kong in 2019 and Lima in 2020.
The MICCAI conference is the largest conference about robot- and computer-assisted surgery and medicine. It is the largest in terms of number of participants (between 1,200 and 1,500 every year), as well as in terms of reputation (A-rated conference according to the Core Ranking). Strasbourg was supported by the ICube laboratory and an organisation committee made up of local, national and international prominent experts, including members of IRCAD and INRA.
