As the production of the Chiron builds momentum, Bugatti opens its “Atelier” to the public, letting us take a behind-the-scenes look at the manufacture of the world’s fastest, most powerful and most luxurious supercar!
Located in Molsheim, the Bugatti workshop, or “Atelier”, is an absolute dream factory for all car enthusiasts. The Bugatti Chiron, a 1,500-horsepower beast of a race car, has been in production here for the past several weeks.
Each Bugatti is unique, crafted to the client’s own personal desires. The Alsatian brand places a great deal of importance on customisation. With unlimited design and customisation options, Bugatti can satisfy practically any need.
You won’t find any robots or assembly lines at Bugatti! Each car is assembled by hand across more than 1,000m² of work space. In fact, the production site had to undergo several modifications to adapt the facilities to the specifications of the car and the complexity of its manufacture.
The first cars will roll off the factory floor by the end of the first quarter: in total, 70 Bugatti Chirons will be made by the end of the year. From the start of production to final delivery, each car requires around 1,800 parts, and 6 months of hand assembly by 20 different technicians. Numbers as extravagant as the car itself!
Before it is delivered to the client, each Chiron undergoes incredibly rigorous quality control tests. During the test drive, the Chiron covers 300km along the roads of the Vosges before arriving at the Colmar Aeroport, where the supercar is put through its paces, and reaches speeds of up to 250km/h!
“We make supercars, but it’s much more than that. The way we manufacture them, by creating a hand-crafted, tailor-made product for every client, all in a unique atmosphere, makes us a unique brand. We could even call it automotive haute couture.” says Christophe Piochon, a Bugatti executive in charge of production and logistics.
Ultra-modern, top performance, breath-taking design and luxurious comfort – Bugatti continues to raise the bar with this ultimate supercar par excellence!
