Alsace at the Shanghai World Expo ( 1. Mai 2010 bis 31. Oktober 2010)

Alsace is one of the 2 French regions which will have its own Pavilion at the next Shanghai World Expo. With 236 countries and regions participating and an objective of 80 million visitors, this should be the biggest World Expo ever been organized.
The Alsace Pavilion - a positive energy building* - is located in the “Urban Best Practices Area”, where the most advanced technologies in terms of sustainable energies will be presented, a field where Alsace has a recognized know-how. As the Pavilion should welcome up to 4 000 visitors a day, it is an unprecedented opportunity to present Alsace to the general public. Its stage design will show the traditional sides of Alsace but also the innovative ones. Some Alsatian companies will use this opportunity to organize their own business events on the Pavilion. Group trade missions will be organized by Alsace International and its partners in order to allow Alsatian companies to explore the Chinese market. A first multi-sector mission will take place in June, in September the focus will be “Urban Mobility” and in October, the “Positive Energy Building* and Energy Efficiency” sector will be covered.
