The Dutch brewery Heineken has announced that it will expand the production capacity of its brewery located in Schiltigheim. This investment consolidates the future of the Alsatian brewery!
Thanks to an investment of 9.3 million euros, the Espérance brewery’s new bottling line will allow it to produce more beer. 450,000 additional hectolitres of beer will be produced per year, or 40,000 more bottles per hour! Thanks to the new line, which will be functional in 2018, the site’s production will attain 1.7 million hectolitres per year. Heineken has also announced the creation of 14 jobs starting in April 2017.
This expansion confirms Heineken‘s commitment to keeping its investment in Alsace, France’s leading brewery region. This choice can also be explained by changes that have taken place at the site over the past few years. According to a press release, “the brewery is home to the innovation centre for France and, in 2015, was awarded an internal excellence prize for the quality of its products and its operational performance”.
